Hi, my name is Lisa and I moved to from Germany to Scotland in 2009. Since coming here I have always lived in hostels. But even before that I stayed in hostels a lot, quite often as a longtermer or weekly, mostly in Ireland. I am working as a nightporter here at the hostel as well and see both the good and bad sides of this kind of life.
Back in Germany I went to uni to become a social worker but that idea is long gone and I guess I live a lot more unconventional. Because night portering can be boring I started to crochet back in 2012 and it has become an obsession and a business.
I am not sure, if it means I have more freedom than others, I think I am still trying to figure that one out.
In this blog, I write about hostel life, traveling, especially backpacking and my little business but also about what ever I feel like is worth writing about. In the last two months this blog has become somewhat an obsession. I invite you to go through my archive and you are also welcome to comment.
But please be aware that, since I am not a native English speaker there might be weird expressions, spelling and grammar mistakes.
I also go through older posts every now and then and correct, improve and change them.
Life is an ever changing river and so is this blog...
